An educated consumer is a good consumer. To help students learn about wireless technology, Crown created Celltown, USA for AT&T Wireless. With the help of a statewide panel of educators, Crown developed an interdisciplinary educational program for eighth graders. AT&T Wireless provided the materials and lesson plans free-of-charge to teachers, and Crown promoted the program with direct mail and presentations at educational conferences throughout the state. The program was implemented in 80 percent of the eighth grade classrooms in the state of North Carolina.
